Pollution can find its way into urban rivers via surface water outfalls (drains) as a result of misconnected plumbing. This is often an overlooked source of pollution, which cause chronic damage to our waterbodies. Outfall Safaris consist of bankside surveys which aim to find and assess these outfalls, so that polluted ones can be remediated.
